Reflection
on the Course
I have learned that
knowing the audience is very important. The author needs to specific and
detailed information in order to get the response they are trying to achieve
from the audience.
People including
myself do not like to give constructive criticism but it helps when someone
points out the mistakes that I am making and in return my grade is better.
I have also learned to re-read the syllabus
and instructions.
I have learn to copy and save future
assignment when the instructor post them
early so we have more time to complete them
the date they are due in order to not forget where the instruction is.
There are going to be
many deadlines for tasks that need to be completed. I will write tasks and
deadline dates in several places in order to get them done in time. I
understand what is meant by all written work is part fictional. (unknown)
Most of the readings
were confusing or maybe just above my reading compression level, for the most
part they did not make much sense to me, I really enjoyed Winter’s Bone,
even if it did have some adverse effects on me. I found very factual for being
fiction.
I spent much more
time on class that what was suggested in the syllabus. A lot of time was spent
the navigation of the Yavapai college web site to find the resources I needed.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what th
I did find this
class extremely challenging and I am grateful it has come to an end. I will
take these two weeks before summer classes start and get some rest.
I now research more to find supportive information that can be used more easily while citing work.

I have only one
topic sentence and stick to the topic of that paragraph.
I work
full-time Monday thru Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00p.m. I work until 10:00 or 11:00
week day nights and most Saturdays and Sundays sometimes all day on the
weekends if I had been distracted earlier in the week.
I am taking a second English class. The assignments
for this class were due on Tuesdays, thankfully.
My two grown daughters both had to move back
home. Both moves took hours from my study time. Just get back on task and do
it.
My
twelve year old son received a long term suspension and I had to set him up on
a virtual school in order for him to finish 6th grade. This was by
far the greatest challenge this semester. It took two weeks to get him set up
and two weeks to get him to adjust to not having supervision while doing his
homework and constant reminders that taking shortcuts were not helping
him. When I get home from work I grade
his papers, check his online work make sure he had not taken short cuts. Now it
I have time to get to my school work done.
Considering all the hoopla life has thrown at you, I'm impressed that you've managed to finish the semester despite the headaches. My compliments, lass.
ReplyDeleteI can sympathize. My wife had a total mastectomy due to breast cancer last year, and we're still dealing with the plastic surgery issues. My oldest daughter is autistic. We adopted another little girl from foster care, and we also have an almost 3-year-old underfoot. We volunteer with foster care kids and special needs children in the community.
Needless to say, I've been busy too. ;)
Great job sticking with it, and I hope you continue to do so, despite the hassles the Fates can throw in our path.
Good job on your post it really does seem that you learned a lot. I feel the same way when it comes to the complexity of the readings but those books were tough. Anyways good luck with your future and hopefully you get the grade you are hoping for.
